river talk...

Post by johnnie a. on Wed 29 Sep 2010, 10:43 pm

"so the good-natured mole, having cut some slices of ham, set the hedgehogs to fry it, and returned to his own breakfast, while the otter and the rat, their heads together, eagerly talked river-shop, which is long shop and talk that is endless, running on like the babbling river itself." "pausing there a moment and looking back, they saw the whole mass of the wild wood, dense, menacing, compact, grimly set in vast white surroundings; simultaneously they turned and made swiftly for home, for firelight and the familiar things it played on, for the voice, sounding cheerily outside their window, of the river that they knew and trusted in all its moods, that never made them afraid with any amazement."-from The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame i know! i know' you're all probably thinking that i'm fully sponsored by border's, but i just bought my copy of this book there...

Johnnie... I think you are the man, but honestly I am so perplexed by your posts. Full of river innuendo, inside jokes, and lightly laced with sarcasm... they leave me scratching my head most of the time.

dazed and confused...

Let it ride. Go live outside the box for a bit and see if you still seek or want the answer to the question you are asking. "read, and know. There are a plethora of books written, yet undiscovered by the eternal waiting soul".-Josh 8.

I just read an interesting article in the Trib. Not really quotable though.

Johnnie I saw you and the chitlins in the Fresh Market lot. Shoulda' honked but might of made the driver crash.
