AF clean up

Post by Pedro on Sun 04 Mar 2012, 9:02 pm

I know there are some BIG logs on the AF that need some help. Two large pine blew over right below squiggles for those that know the run. I have done a bit of river clean up and started to work on those big pines. If anyone wants to do some work let me know. Im thinking next weekend I will put in some time and whenever else I can before the water turns on.

Are there any other river work projects going on in the state? Its an endless battle here!

Man, Squiggles is the endless battle, isn't it? I could help out sometime; let me know what days work for you Pete.
Edit: I see that they put a new stick gauge at Sawmill, along with making it a USGS gauge. Nice to have something to look at when you are up there, if you don't have a smart phone (or coverage).

I see there is a new stick gauge at the Sawmill gauge in AF. I also think the same Sawmill location is where the new USGS gauge is (from the Location Map on the USGS gauge); so why the numbers are so different on the two gauges is a mystery to me.

Say Pete, Daniel, remind me how the levels on the new USGS gauge correlate to the flows mentioned on the Eddyflower run description (using the old gauge)? I would like to try to get on this as it comes up (on the low side of pushy), hopefully before high water pushes more wood in.
"old gauge" shows 6 right now:

"new gauge" shows 27 right now:
