Need EXTRA GEAR (for trip)

Hey, just shooting up an ad to see if anyone has extra gear laying around that I could either rent or borrow for a day. (Saturday, April 28). It would be much appreciated. Need the essentials a paddle, helmet, spay skirt, life jacket, and boat. Please and thanks.

Going to run the Weber with girlfriend, first timer. Would you be willing to help me out Jeff?

I'll be down at the Green River on the UWC Noob trip this weekend. Not sure which run on you're planning on but the Weber (89-RW) is not a place to take a first timer noob, especially with all the new wood hazards. Take her down RW-OPP instead if you can't make the Green River Daily trip.

A pool session is the safest way to learn to wet exit, paddle with a forward stroke, low brace, high brace, draw stroke, and then learn to roll (a lesson from a kayak instructor is a good way to learn to roll).

You could also rent touring kayaks from Weber State, and paddle on a lake, like Pineview or Causey, but the water is still cold, so I wouldn't suggest roll practice for beginners in the local lakes without a drysuit and other coldwater gear.

Has your friend ever done any flatwater kayaking or canoeing?
Is she a good swimmer? Able to swim laps, like 500+ yards?
