Met the West Jordan City Planner

Post by ArneC on Mon 23 Jul 2012, 1:07 am

Met the West Jordan City planner, I was his guide on a raft trip this past week. . . I asked him if he had thought of a kayak park at or around the Slag Hole, and he seemed really keen on the project. Anyway, he said that he had actually talked with a couple people in the city gov't about it, and he would bring it up again. His name was Rick Davis, and he was a real nice guy. If any of you live in West Jordan, maybe drop him a line, and express your desire for a whitewater park. I told him it would be beneficial to the community for a few reasons, ecotourism and revenue being some of those. Oh, and if you all need someone to surf kahuna with, or to run Alpine canyon with, drop me a line.

thanks for getting him interested Arne. Sure would be nice to not have to drive all the way to o-town for a quality wave.

I fought this battle with Scott, the Jordan River Parkway planner a couple years ago.. the response was "that is not in our five year plan"... good luck.
