Snotel information for the Middle Fork of Salmon River

Post by gitdown on Wed 23 Apr 2014, 10:39 pm

Hi

Is there anyone who has the current web address for the daily snow pack and water amount on any of the drainages for the Middle Fork of the Salmon River?
I used to have this and several other sites bookmarked in the past but the government changed the web address this year and my bookmarks don't work.

I think that I used Galina summit or Banner Summit or some high point along the river drainage system that gives a fairly accurate measure on how much of the snow pack is left and the temperatures and how much snow pack is left at different sites along the river.  This gives a pretty good idea of when the river is going to peak and when the snowpack has melted.  If anyone has the web addresses could you post them for me or email me at

What I am looking for is the Middle Fork of the Salmon River Recession analysis also.

Thanks

Paul

Idaho SNOTEL Sites

Galina Summit

Banner Summit

Middle Fork of the Salmon forecast page:
http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/glance.php?wfo=boi&riverid=204360&status=1
Here is "all" checked. The Probabilistic Stage and Flow Forecast graphs are pretty.
The Stage Exceedance and Flow Exceedance graphs look like the same info, but less pretty.

there is a 10 day forecast here:

Thanks so much for the information.  I have copied and put them back into bookmarks.  I don't have a permit for this year but there is one avalable for May 27th  just now as I am typing this reply. PS thety don't  usually last on the middle fork website for more than a few minutes

Thanks again

Paul
