7/8th river-wide strainer on BV

Post by Wil on Thu 15 May 2014, 10:39 pm

Fairly blind and nasty strainer right after a turn, about 2/3rds of a mile from the takeout on BV.  It got one in our unsuspecting group, but luckily he was able to whack his way through.  Only run-able line as of 6 PM ish today, was basically scraping the bank on the left side and then making a move back to the center.

Also up top where two years ago was a great boof on the left, that last year was tight with wood, is not un-runable (at least by me).  Running it far right and bring it back to the center worked on my two laps.

Definitely other wood in the water, and it's always changing, so be careful.  Viva la BV, and hopefully she will last a little more.

Thanks again to Johnnie for being the man with the knowledge, as it was a great way to spend an afternoon.

Wil

word on the street ... current flows on bv will hold the rest of today(the flows are exactly the same as last night ...).  they will drop it by 150 cfs tomorrow, and then, they said it will not drop incrementally, but substantially. wood situation is exactly the same today as last night.  cheers!
