UWC 2011 Roll Practice

Post by Lonny Selin on Sat 26 Feb 2011, 4:21 pm

This year, just as last year has been very
difficult to find an available and cooperative pool for Spring Roll
Practice. I may have some promise for a contract in the future but not
until next year. Ed Riding has been very generous and diligent in backing
me up and has arranged for the Kearns Community Center Pool across from Kearns High
School .

Oquirrh Park
Fitness Center

5624 South 4800 West in Kearns

(this is between 5400 South and 6200 South on 4800 West)

As many of you may remember, Ed arranged this same pool
at the same time last year and did so on his own which put the burden of cost
on his shoulders. Friday evenings may not be an ideal time for some of us
but it remains our last resort. Kearns
as a location may be questionable to some but realize that there are quite a
few people on the west side who are finding this rather convenient. We
have a contract which begins March 4th at 7:00 PM. We need
your support for this endeavor in order to finance the contract. Due to
the financial burden last year, Ed is recommending $10 per boat, however we
will keep the contribution at $8 pending attendance. If we get good
turnout and cooperation, we may be able to drop it further. Attendance
and enthusiasm will determine how long we can keep the weekly sessions
going. Also depending on attendance, the date on Friday, March 25th
will be in question due to a prior commitment in support of an upcoming

We are not teaching any classes, however, we have many
people who enjoy helping people with their technique. Therefore novices, beginners and
sub-beginners are welcome. Be sure to
arrange to bring your boat, skirt and paddle.

Your feed back is welcome. See you on Friday, March 4th at 7
