Bridal Veil today (Friday) at 3

Post by mitchin on Thu 21 Apr 2011, 1:15 pm

Anybody up for Bridal Veil Today? I can go anytime.

If anyone ran it yesterday, how's the wood situation?[quote]

Yesterday:
The left side of the first drop is no bueno due to a log. The right side is good to go (watch out for the piton rock), as is the "s-turn" line. The right side of the crux turn after the falls has wood, make sure you go left. Besides that there's nothing remotely river-wide, or hard to see...

(of course, it's runoff season, so it can change day by day...)

Looks as if they slowed down the release out of Deer Creek Dam. Which in turn will lower BV. Still runnable though. Taking a look during my lunch break. If its still up I'll join you later today around 5:30.

Friday

Post by mitchin on Thu 21 Apr 2011, 6:04 pm

I'm not going to be able to make it out this evening, but I'm open tomorrow if anybody wants to go and the flow is still good. I'm free all day but in general earlier is better.

What's the minimum flow ... looks like the derived gauge is back up.

Rob Allen and I pulled a river wide log out today. Log came down because of a beaver. Also the big log that was at the start of the crux blew out on Monday and is now pinned in the corner of the crux. Still a center-right to left move just more important that you make it now.

As someone previously stated the gauge calculation is back because the radio gate at Murdock dam is now closed.

Almost always willing to hit a lap on BV. Call me if you come down and I will try to make it.

Oops sorry for the redundancy about the crux wood. Misunderstood part of your post.

Take out at 3

Post by mitchin on Fri 22 Apr 2011, 10:32 am

My friend and I are meeting at the take out at 3. Anybody who wants to come is welcome to join us. Just let me know and we will be sure and look for you before we head to the put in.
I might be up for another lap if someone wants to come but can't make it by 3.

Thanks everybody for the wood and flow info.
