Novice/Intermediate Skills Clinic

Post by IfOnly on Mon 25 Apr 2011, 12:10 am

The Utah Whitewater Club is considering offering Novice and Intermediate kayak clinics again this June. The clinics last year were very well received and very worthwhile.

There will be three levels:

1- Get familiar with the river – for people with some river experience and at least a part-time roll.

2- Get more out of the river – for people comfortable on class II/III and a reliable roll.

3- Get after the river – for people with solid Class III skills looking to move to more challenging water.

The skills/techniques covered in each of the classes will largely be determined by the interests and abilities of the participants, but the emphasis in all cases will be to improve and expand your skill set.

Cost is projected to be about $80.00 per person. Membership in UWC is not required but non-members will need to pay an additional $5.00 to cover ACA insurance.

The clinics will entail two full days on the water, are tentatively planned for June 18-19, and will likely take place on the Hen-Tag section of the Weber River.

If you are interested please email the UWC at uwcelections@yahoo.com and let us know. If we receive sufficient interest by the first week of May we will put this together.

Thanks,

Brent Bisgrove, Greg Joyner
