Black Box(es) Monday??

Post by Guest on Fri 27 May 2011, 11:31 am

The flows are looking promising, so I'm planning on the San Rafael 1st Black Box on Monday. Rocket is in. Brighton, Graham, Pete, others? Leaving early morning for a long day, back home same night.

It was a super fun run with a great group of paddlers. Thanks for letting me run the river with ya. I posted about 160 pics on my facebook, so if I hadn't sent ya a friend request yet, look me up. I also updated the Eddyflower description a bit and added some new pics to that. I hope to do another cool run with ya'll in the future.

Seems like every time I plan to do the Box, something happens to change the plan. Hoping to get in there in the near future.

Yeah, I was bummed when I heard you would not be making it. Sounded like you had a bit of an epic. Did ya find your boat? I have always wanted to run Huntington.

The boat was recovered, a bit banged up. Had to pull apart a log jam with a come along and a truck to free it. I've got a couple of softball sized bruises among other scrapes. Guess that's what I get for doing log laden read and run class 5- without ever seeing it before. That said, what the hell are we doing ignoring this run? Easily one of the best in the state. Lots of great rapids over about 10 miles. A concerted log clean out would make it a destination worth driving to even if there were no other runs around.
