Joe's bumping, Emery county trifecta

Post by brightonb on Sun 19 Jun 2011, 12:52 pm

Anyone interested in doing a day of the Ferron, upper main Huntington, and the bumping Joe's in the next couple of days?

Didn't quite get the trifecta in today. Hit a couple of extra juicy laps on Joe's with Justin, Graham, Jared, John, Brody and Christy. A few of us that couldn't get enough did the slides on the main Huntington. The water was so fast with giant gushy waves at the bottoms that we just couldn't wipe of the huge smiles off between giggles. Get out there as soon as you can!

What a blast Cottonwood Creek was! What I don't get is the Eddy Flower description says its "pool drop". It was far from that... For the most part it was watery class III with IV to IV+ rapids. Infact, the description and pictures shown are not what it was like.

Have fun! We sure did! Be sure to scout, it was free of wood yesterday but the night we got there we were looking at the Mine Cart drop and 5 huge logs came floating by and got stuck (out of the way), which will move with more water (more water came after we left). After blown away by the size of the logs we noticed they came from the mine structure that was about about a quarter mile from the drop. That structure was there for over 100 years and it finally collapsed, nuts.
