OGDEN NARROWS RACE

Post by Jeff Young on Sun 21 Aug 2011, 3:55 pm

It's a go. I'll be organizing it again this year with Nathan and Dave's assistance The UWC will again be providing support with insurance and again with manning key positions during the event. Sponsors are lining up, should be a great time again
Stand by for details. Contact me to volunteer.

Looks like we are going to work out adding a SUP race on RG also. Glide SUPs has offered to sponsor that additional event. More info to come.

You know I'd be down for whatever needs volunteering for. Last year I had the privilege to do safety, and run the whole canyon as a convenience, so this year I can do something else off-river if needed. A Rainbow Gardens SUP race sounds awesome, especially considering the limbo pipe half way through...

When speaking with the city about the release I requested the flow be bumped to 600 cfs, for a few reasons and after consulting some legal types. They are running the numbers now, drumroll please

Sept 24th at noon. Release should begin at 10am, race starts at noon and water turns off at 4, giving us boating time until at least 5 pm.

600 would be awesome! Unfortunately I will be back east that weekend Crying or Very sad
Edit:
Not that sea kayaking in Maine is so bad. Would love to get up to the Kennebec also. Supposed to be some good big water IV.
