Murtaugh Sunday 9/11

Post by Vertder Miff on Wed 07 Sep 2011, 11:36 am

I know this was talked about in a previous thread, but who wants to run the Murtaugh this Saturday? Looks like it's still at around 4,000cfs. We can plan on meeting at the takeout at 11am. I can fit one boat in addition to mine on my car (I'm bringing a boat home with me from Twin). Who wants to ride with me? Another option for people from SLC and Utah county would be to all meet at my house and pile into as few cars as possible there. Give me a call if you want to do that but don't have my address. FourZeroThree-SevenOneSix4. It's an 801 number.

EDIT: Plan on Sunday, instead. All other details are the same.

Awe man! I got home from work, and everyone's paired up already! If there's room in anyone's car, I'd love to hop in at Brigham on your way up. I'll pay as if I were coming from SLC.

Thanks

Dave

I'd like to join in. I'm coming from Park City, and can meet in SLC. I've boated with Dave a couple of times and can pick him up and would have at least two spots open, or we would gladly pay gas for a ride up there.

Let me know if we can work something out.

Wil,

That'd be great if you could pick up Dave. Brandon, John, and I can ride together and meet you guys at the takeout at 11am.

Vert,
Sounds like a plan. I might be picking up one more from SLC, and would have room for two more people if anyone is interested.

If any of you guys have something with a little bit more of volume, and would like to use something a little more playful (Pyranha Recoil Large), I would love to trade for the day. My Burn is still in Colorado, and I would like to have a little more volume for a bigger water 1st descent if possible.

Im 75 percent in. Chris, Im assuming all levels are good in a playboat? Also looking to carpool. I rather not drive, my truck gets an insane amount of miles already.

Haydon is in also. Should we all just meet at Chris to figure out rides?

Anyone that wants to meet at my house is welcome to. A lot of people run it in a playboat at the current level. I'll be using my Remix.

Anyone for Malad Saturday, Murtaugh Sunday?
I have done the "normal" Malad run, which is very short, but quality IV in crystal clear, 58 degree (warmish) spring water. I would like to look more closely at the lower half, which looks like it has enough water from the Rt 30 bridge.
I could even rally to the Payettes on Sunday night, for a couple days.

Vert, can you PM me your address? Not sure where you live, but don't want to go too far south of I-80 if I don't have to.

I'll have room for at least two more, and maybe a third, as I'm still waiting for someone else to find out if he can make it. A free ride to anyone if they can let me use their higher volume planing (flat) hull kayak, and they are welcome to use my Pyranha Recoil too.

It was awesome. Big waves and great times with friends. I don't have any videos, but here's a pic looking upstream at Misty.

We should see if Ted wants to upload some of the video he got. But I think his battery died before we got to LMAD. Thanks to Chris and his buddies... we all had an epic time with a great posse. Cool
